Sometimes I see things at the supermarket and wonder, "How would that taste as a pizza?" or, "How can I cook that to make it look pretty?" I lovingly call these miracle meals my "inventions".
These inventions are also born when I find myself staring a failed recipe, and out of desperation I try to salvage it. (My recipe book is full of these types of experiments and salvaged failures!!).
Keep in mind, I hate measuring, so if there is a measurement listed it's probably an estimate. I'm pretty good at eyeballing correct amounts, though. In my experience, following directions or recipe books takes me down a road of bland, burned, or just gross food. Because of that, I rarely follow directions when cooking. I'm more likely to add seasoning or turn up the heat, or maybe even turn down the heat and let something simmer more than is called for. So, if you happen to try any of these (or any future recipe's I share), please leave me comments about what you changed and how it turned out!

(In the above photo, I used chunked swiss and sharp cheddar cheese, and for the seasoning I used Bone Collector's "Thunder Chicken"....a family favorite!) |
